Instructions for use

1. Surface Preparation

Wear safety gloves. Ensure surface to be protected is clean, dry and free from grease and dirt.

2. Measure & Cut

Unroll the tape, measure to the length required and cut it from the roll.

3. Tape Positioning

Position the tape piece and press into place. Smooth down firmly as you proceed to expel all air pockets and mould to shape.

4. Applying In Strips

a. Choose a tape wide enough to overlap each side of the repair by at least 15mm or lay several strips together. Ensure that overlaps allow water to flow over rather than into the joins.

b. Where an uninterrupted run of tape cannot be achieved due to a change in elevation, care must be taken to make a tight seal where the change in level (or overlap) occurs.

c. Make a small fold in the tape, tuck the fold into the angle, and smooth down the top surface to remove any air bubbles.

d. To complete the seal, fold the tape over the end of the overlap.

5. Applying Spirally

Keeping a firm tension, wind evenly, overlapping the tape by half its width. This technique is ideal for the waterproofing of insulation or pipe lagging and preventing rust on metal pipes above ground.
