Sylglas Clear Anti-Slip Tape reduces the risk of slips in a Polytunnel entrance

Tens of thousands of people in the UK attend A&E after an accident in their garden. Many hazards can cause injury and a common one is slipping or tripping on garden paths or paving stones. There are many basic safety precautions one can take, such as packing away hosepipes, mending loose paving stones, and providing a good grip underfoot.

Mrs. D recently applied Sylglas Weatherproofing Tape to a cracked pane of glass in her greenhouse glass (view story here) And she was so pleased with the result that she ordered a roll of Sylglas Clear Anti-Slip Tape to try for a hazardous paving stone in her Polytunnel.

Mrs. D has a slanted paving stone leading into her Polytunnel which can become very slippery when wet, either after watering or while wearing muddy boots. To combat this, she applied three strips of Sylglas Clear Anti-Slip tape to the large paving stone to provide more grip when entering and exiting the tunnel. With a range of colours to choose from, she chose the clear colour to blend in with the paving stone, as she needed it for gripping purposes rather than for a visual cue.

During a sunny spell of weather, and before watering that day, the paving stone was bone dry which meant it was the perfect time for the anti-slip tape application. After giving her path a good sweep to remove all loose dust and debris, Mrs D measured the tape against the length of the slab and cut three strips. She then peeled back the interleaving and stuck each piece of tape down. It was as simple as that, and the more she walked over the tape, the better the adhesive became.

As a busy gardener, Mrs. D often rushes around tending to her plants. Applying this tape has now given her and her family confidence that she won’t slip down her treacherous polytunnel path. Mrs. D once again commented on the ease of application and has since recommended Sylglas products to her friends, and ensured she has some of our products in her toolbox.
