In 2012 we received an interesting email from a customer who purchased three rolls of Sylglas Original Waterproofing Tape. Our customer, Mr. B let us know that he originally sealed his Carport with Sylglas Tape over 40 years ago.

Mr. B bought the Carport in kit form, and built it in 1968/1970. It was made of Kerawin hardwood, and perspex panels, and he sealed it with Sylglas Original Waterproofing Tape.

Over 30 years later, the tape was still effective, however during the winter storms of 1991, some of the panels were ripped off. The repaired carport was then sealed with what looks like flashing tape.

In 2012 Mr. B decided it was ‘about time’ to renovate and reseal his Carport, and he did so with great success and ease. Our Sylglas Original Waterproofing Tape is well known to be sticky, (part of what makes it so effective) so to clean up any areas he didn’t want residue, he used a cloth dipped in turpentine to remove it.

Mr. B was very pleased with the results and commented on how easy the product was to apply himself.
